Hi Friends!

Living your life doesn’t have to always involve scheduling, calendars and appointments! Let’s face it – sometimes all that structure can actually cause stress!

But a little ‘soul structure’ goes a long way!

Yoga, pilates, exercise classes, your mail, trains and planes all run on a schedule. So why do you resist scheduling time for yourself each day?

The biggest reason why we resist structure is simply because we either don’t know how or what to do, or we just don’t schedule it.

Often times I get asked what a ‘day in the life’ looks like and I have to admit – it didn’t ALWAYS look like what I’m about to show you.

Somedays, life gets in the way and missing a few steps is bound to happen!

It’s taken a while to get my soul-schedule to where it is now, but I’ve figured out what the secret sauce, magic ingredient(s) are to cook up health and happiness from the inside out.

I’m super excited to share them with you today!

I’ve combined my personal schedule to give you some fresh inspiration plus a DIY downloadable schedule so you can create your own and try it on for size.

Magnetic Morning Menu Choose from the following and adjust based on your personal schedule. *Hint – make sure you schedule this.
6 a.m. Gently flutter those eyes open and take a minute or two to visualize the day ahead. Think about what you’d like to accomplish that day and see yourself grounded to a deeper energy source. Be positive in your thoughts and words and problem solve any possible barriers.
6-6:30 a.m. Shower/bathing: Rinse away any remains from yesterday and visualize any anxieties or stress staying above the surface and floating off of you like beads of water dripping off your skin. Release anger, anxiety, tension, stress and guilt.
6:40-6:50 a.m. Light stretching or yoga poses
6:50-7:00 a.m. Sit quietly and take 3 deep nourishing breaths
7:30-8:10 a.m. Get yourself together for today. Make yourself a lunch, go for a walk, check your email or the news.
8:10-8:30 a.m. Morning Menu Magic. Give yourself enough time to fix a nutritious and delicious breakfast. Sit down, take a deep breath, give appreciation for your food and your body and actually taste your food, smell it too! Get the whole sensation!
8:30-9:00 a.m. Off to work or play! Try to add as many natural elements as possible by parking your car farther away from the door, walking or biking to work if the weather permits.
9:00 – noon As you begin your work day or job, take a moment and express some appreciation for yourself.

Afternoon Menu
Noon-1/1:30 pm Midday pause, lunch, beyond just eating lunch walk away from your desk. Go outside if you can or another space in your office and stretch or take a walk – move your body and be active. Enjoy a lunch and take a deep breath, appreciate your food and body.
5-5:30 pm Travel home in a peaceful manner. Listen to peaceful nature sounds or music that you enjoy and puts a smile on your face. Thank yourself for taking part in the day and for whatever means you got to and from work.
5:30-5:50 pm Gentle stretching, yoga with the purpose to naturally release the day, any tensions or stressors and balance yourself.

Evening Menu
6:00-7:00 pm Prepare your food, eat a meal and enjoy. Take a deep breath, eat slowly and appreciate your food and body.
7:00 pm – 9 pm Celebrate yourself, your day. Do what makes you happy. Finish any work form the day, exercise, talk on the phone, watch your favorite shows etc…
10:30-11 pm Shut off any electronics, phones, TV, radio, computers, emails etc… Turn the lights down and let your body adjust to non-distraction and noise. Light a candle, read a chapter in a book or journal for 5-10 minutes about the day, what you’re grateful for and/or what you have to do tomorrow.
11 pm Deep breaths, journaling and setting an intention for a deep, restful and rejuvenating sleep.

I hope that gives you a taste of what a soul-structured rewarding ritual could look like.

Creating a delicious recipe for success takes time. Sometimes you try different ‘ingredients’ for a while and switch it up. Do what works for you and what you feel comfortable and willing to do!

I started turning off the lights in my classroom and taking a few minutes to just “breathe” at the beginning of my lunch break.
